Opening Reception July 14, 6-9:30pm
In conjunction with AGA Introductions
Introductions features recent works by artists who are being shown for the first time at Barbara Archer Gallery. Louisiana artist Troy Dugas weaves his intricate radial forms using labels from beer bottles and cigars. Director of Winthrop University Galleries, Tom Stanley, draws simple, geometric nautical images inspired by the mysterious death of his grandfather. Ashlynn Browning’s mixed media drawings balance traditional drawing skills with instinctual approaches. Leslie Giuliani’s mixed media drawings reveal a personal narrative which combines seemingly disparate images, with sometimes nightmarish familiarity. Finally, Sarah Dixon paints haunting and intimate portraits of antique dolls.
