this series of photographs is about love, loss and friendship. this project began over the summer of 2021, while spending time at a close friend’s house when her health was failing. these intimate images, expressing my grief, focus on small moments of life and loss. j.m.l.
nature’s first green is gold,
her hardest hue to hold.
her early leaf’s a flower;
but only so an hour
then leaf subsides to leaf.
so eden sank to grief,
so dawn does down to day.
nothing gold can stay.
